& once we took the lift up the North Observation Deck after the simplest bag check, we were greeted by this absolutely breathtaking sight. While we met G&Gcouple at Shinjuku, we decided to walk over to the T okyo Metropolitan Building because there was a free Observation Deck for tourists, which is supposedly open until 10:30 p.m.Īs it was already turning to 7, we were quite in a rush to get there before the sun sets! However the r oasted salmon did not impress.īut it didn’t cost a bomb to try so I was still v satisfied! The prices were pretty reasonable and the sushis tasted fresh. Tuna and spring onions hand roll and maki! It reminded me of a more colorful and lively Itacho where they have cheap sushis on promotion and many other a la carte items on the menu. I have seen good reviews on the below sushi chain: SushiZanmai, which claims to be ‘Japan’s first 24-hour, 365-days-a-year sushi bar’, so that was on the dinner menu.

Though it can hurt a little at those sore spots! Really random but Rus’ friend who was showing us around bought a s hrimps aquarium/tank which contained 2 minuscule shrimps that I struggled to even notice hahaha so you really can find all sorts of gifts or souvenirs there! We wandered to LOFT which stored all sorts of lifestyle goods you can think of, albeit at a higher price (as compared to the likes of DonKi).īut i guess the pretty packaging and designs of some items deserve some monetary love. Well, I guess all these unexpected sights and sounds makes a trip more interesting! Then I saw these people marching across with signboards in hand and realised they were anti-war/peace protestors.įor those who don’t follow the news, at that point of time, Japan was planning to start expanding their military groups, after years of settling for pure self defence since WW2. While wandering back at Shibuya, we suddenly heard loud noises and beating of drums. (& we couldn’t find each other for a good hour or so…) You can find the store in Mitsukoshi department store (2F).įeel free to sit down to eat but we had greater plans to walk through the entire Ginza street and visit the famous 12 stories of Uniqlo, where Rus and friends actually spent 3h in. I picked the rose tea flavourwhich tasted really similar to the macaron but less sweet 🙂 Just like Godiva has their own line of chocolate ice cream, Lauduree in Japan also has its selection of flavours! Take note that on Sundays, the Chuo Dori Street is open to pedestrians from 12 to 6pm. Next we walked to the main streets of Ginza.

So this was the resting area where you could enjoy complimentary tea and also a free view of the imperial garden. If a picture could say a thousand words…or maybe no words, just peaceful silence. The exhibition had a collection of ancient Asian pots and treasures and it was quite amusing that Rus and myself were the only ‘young people’ there. The staff couldn’t go due to other commitments so they thought why not pass it to these 2 Singaporean tourists instead haha. Thanks friendly Japanese staff! We spent some time visiting the Imperial Palace GardenĮarlier while asking for directions from the train station, the counter staff passed us 2 free tickets to an art exhibition! (Ps: R didn’t really like this soba but then again, he may just not be a soba OR udon OR noodles-thats-not-wanton-or-hokkien person! :P) It could be slightly tricky to use their vending machine to purchase the food tickets, as the sets are all labelled in Japanese.īut just do a simple case of character/imagery matching and i’m sure you’ll be slurping happily with your bowl of buckwheat noodles. You can also add on various tempura if you like. Here’s my colourful (& I assume healthy) bowl of soba which only costs me 500yen max! Just hop over to Fuji Soba(that is almost at every train station) and you can enjoy simple and filling soba for only a few hundred yen! Keeping in mind that we were on a budget trip, we were not going for ‘high production value’ soba which I’m sure there are plenty in town. Starting with one of my favourite Japanese dish, Soba! Stayed in bed the half of Sunday so I thought I should take the time to tie up the loose ends of our Japan trip, including the many other places we explored and food we ate.
